Overview:
Our practice is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the lungs and respiratory system. We specialize in the care of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, allergies, lung cancer, emphysema, and sleep disorders, as well as the care and treatment of critically ill adult patients.
Dr. Varraux was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and obtained his Bachelors’ Degrees in both Biology and Mathematics at Youngstown University. He earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. After a three year residency in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, he served for two years as a Major in the Air Force at SAC Air Force Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He then continued with advanced subspecialty training in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, LA. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease. Dr. Varraux has had a longstanding and active Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine practice and has developed two Joint-Commission Accredited Sleep Centers. In practice, Dr. Varraux believes in individualizing care and establishing a relationship with his patients, by understanding their condition, and using preventative treatment to help them maintain a better life style.
